COLLAGED ENVELOPE BOOKS (by 7 Gypsies)

Seven Gypsies makes unusual blank books for altered-book and scrapbooking artists. These particular books have plain brown board covers and contain ten envelopes for holding little bits and memories that you don't want to throw away. The long books have 4.5 x 10 inch envelopes with string tie closures at the end. The squarer books contain 4.5 x 6.5 inch envelopes (picture at right shows the book open). The envelopes can be decorated or left plain. The covers have been collaged by Paper Antix.

Whether you entertain a lot or infrequently, this book will make sure you don't serve the same meal to the same people or seat the same people next to each other. It gives you a place to record the occasion, the meal, the guests, the wines, and any other memorable events.

The pages of our hostess books are 7" wide, 8 1/2" tall and have space for thirty events. Printed on acid-free paper, the bindings feature some of our most beautiful papers. RIBBON-TIED BOOKS FOR WEDDING JOURNAL, HOSTESS BOOK, GUEST BOOK or JOURNAL

We have an "all-purpose" book cover design which can hold up to 44 pages which are attached to the covers by sewing a ribbon or cord through the middle of the pages and through the spine of the cover. The tied ribbon holds the pages securely in place. The covers hold pages that are 7 by 8.5 inches. Any of these covers can be made into a lined or unlined journal or guest book, a hostess book, or a wedding journal. The hostess book holds a record of dinner parties, including the guest list, the menu and wines, the occasion and date, and any comments. The wedding journal has pages for a few photographs of the key players, plus information on the wedding itself, such as the reception, caterers, cake, wedding dress. It takes the bride and groom from their first meeting and impressions to their first home. It is not a substitute for a photo album of the event, but in a small size is a place to record all of the information relating to the big day.

At the left is a ribbon-tied book showing the ribbon around the back of the book. On the right is a picture of the inside center of the book, showing how the ribbon goes through a hole in the pages to hold the pages securely in the covers. If there was not a hole in the pages, the pages could slip out of the ribbons.

Below are pictures of the Guest Book and Journal title pages. These can be printed in any style of font. The picture on the right is a sample page of the wedding journal.

The wedding journal has 44 pages with printing on only the right hand sides, leaving the empty left sides for additional notes or photos. But if there are too many photos in the book, the book will get very fat and not lie flat. Price: $60

Unlined journals and guestbooks contain a title page and all the rest of the pages blank. Price for 40 pages: $35.
